TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CHESSTIMER Last updated: 2 January 2026 1. Scope These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of the Progressive Web App (PWA) “ChessTimer” and all related services. The provider is Jens Allmer (individual). 2. Description of Services ChessTimer is a chess clock application with optional features such as game statistics, multi-device synchronization, and club and event functionality. The service is provided “as is”, without any guarantee of availability, features, or error-free operation. 3. Registration and User Account Certain features require the creation of a user account. Users must provide accurate information and keep their access credentials confidential. 4. User Obligations Users are responsible for all content they enter or publish within the application (e.g. names, clubs, events). Misuse of the service or violation of applicable laws is prohibited. 5. Clubs and Events (Platform Only) Clubs and events are organized solely by users. The provider only supplies the technical platform and assumes no responsibility or liability for club or event activities, whether virtual or real. 6. Suspension and Termination The provider reserves the right to suspend or terminate user accounts in cases of misuse, violations of these terms, or for security reasons. Users may delete their account at any time. 7. Paid Services and Withdrawal Paid services are provided at the prices displayed at the time of purchase. Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Details are set out in the Withdrawal Policy. After a valid withdrawal, access to paid features ends immediately. Any clubs or events initiated by the user will also be deleted. 8. Liability The provider is fully liable for intent and gross negligence. In cases of simple negligence, liability is limited to breaches of essential contractual obligations and to foreseeable damages. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected. 9. Changes to the Services The provider reserves the right to modify, extend, or discontinue features, provided this is reasonable for users. 10. Data Protection Personal data are processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy. 11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction German law applies. Where legally permissible, the place of jurisdiction is the provider’s place of business. 12. Language Version The German version of these Terms is legally binding. Translations are provided for convenience only. 13. Final Provisions If individual provisions of these Terms are invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain effective.
